It was more than 200 feet long and 100 feet wide, with a ceiling nearly 50 feet above our heads. A narrow but fast-moving stream cut through the middle of the cavern. Five sections of the stream had been channeled to allow water to veer off to though openings along the rim of the cavern. The force of the underground river coupled with the sloppily carved diversion channels sends excess water over the edges and into the chamber.
